The thumping of the music was enough to cause anyone a headache. Perhaps that is the reason why the libations were almost free flowing, to not only drown out your sorrows but also to drown out the god awful music. She would never understand the transition into music with so much bass. The supposed song didn’t even have any lyrics to it, it was simply just a jumble of beats that someone most of haphazardly put together to what some would consider a song. Where were the good old days with a nice saxophone solo of jazz, or the loving croons of Sinatra. Gone, apparently. Now it was replaced by something known as techno or dubstep. Not her type in the least bit.
There was a diverse grouping of people that had crammed into the club. The night always brought out an array of people and species all intermingling with one another. Her eyes moved towards a human girl gyrating her hips next to a vampire. She huffed a bit. Normally she would be the one to save those in distress, but it seemed like the girl was asking for it. A shady group of demons sat in a VIP section, talking low and laughing every now and again. And there was her, an Angel sitting at the corner of the bar toying with the swizzle stick of her mixed drink.
Madelyn was tired, it had been a long day at the rescue. It was evident by the slightly crumpled sundress she was wearing and the frizz of her copper hair. Most people would have just went home and kicked their feet up, but not her. Her appearance was a bit off putting = the bright crinkled sundress clashing with the tacky overcoat that covered her wings. Maddie wasn’t a fan of parading them around. She hated shoes, but reluctantly put on a pair of flats. She never understood why establishments would require shirt and shoes but never pants. It didn’t make sense to her.
A small sigh escaped her lips as she directed them to mojito in the glass, taking a nice long drink allowing the alcohol to warm the back of her throat. Yes, she was a bit tired but that didn’t stop her from being in the city at night. Most people came to forget their troubles and have fun. She, rather, would find those who were in trouble and assist them. Madelyn wasn’t unarmed though, the Irish dagger attached to a garter underneath her sundress. However, her fighting was still unexperienced and mostly would arrive on the scene to heal the victim. Didn’t mean she hasn’t off’ed one or more supernaturals.
The song changed to more of a quicker beat, the bass lessened. Madelyn smiled slightly as the thumping in her head ceased. She took the moment to down the rest of her drink before pushing the glass towards the end of the bar. “Another one, please” She requested, her eyes scanning the crowd. Perhaps tonight will be a quiet night. Maybe then she could just go home and sleep in peace.
